"Haunted Parasol", a graphic novel series in progress by Naomi Seraphina

My latest creation, Haunted Parasol is essentially a work of protest-fiction.  It explores the sinister ways in which corporations and wealthy individuals are undermining society, eroding democracy, poisoning the biosphere, exploiting the workers, and spreading corruption on countless levels.  Despite tackling grim realities, however, this series is also very much a comedy, albeit a coal-black one.  The story centers around two friends, Rain-Hat Betty and Saguaro Sal.  Both are plucky, resourceful people with many surprising abilities; both are trans-gendered, and both are activists dedicated to winning a better tomorrow for us all.  Their activism has attracted the wrath of several diabolical villains in the corporate world, who have sent their hired thugs (the FBI, Homeland Security, etc.) to bring our heroes down.  Armed with talking bicycles, a Kevlar umbrella, witchcraft and kung fu, our intrepid protagonists battle valiantly against the forces of cruelty-for-profit, and the fate of the planet may hang in the balance.

I hope, soon, to find a publisher, or to decide on a self-publishing option that works, so that I can offer print copies of the book for sale.  In the meantime, thank you for your interest.

A note of advice: if you wish to read the book, it is easiest if you click on the cover page, which enlarges the image, and then use the arrows that appear at the right and left edges of the screen to turn the pages.  Otherwise most of the pages remain invisible, as the screen only scrolls down a short way.
